Is it Slushy or Slushie or even Slushee? All three spellings are used in North America when referring to frozen drinks and all three spellings are equally right. There’s not many products around that are instantly recognisable no matter what the spelling is! We could also use Frozen Drink, Frozen beverages and many people refer to them by the brand name, for example Slurpee or Slush Puppie.

In the UK and Northern Europe ‘Slush’ is most commonly used and in Southern Europe it’s known as Granita or Granite.

Slushy can be made non carbonated or carbonated by the vendor using a specific type of slushy machine which depends on which version they want to sell. A standard slushy machine for non carbonated slushie or a larger commercial slushy machine to make carbonated slushy.
