If your slushy is too icy or not icy enough, this guide shows you how to adjust a non carbonated slushy machine slushy machine.
Step 1
Check the air intake before you do anything else! The main cause of a slushy machine not freezing enough, is a blocked condenser. Behind one of the side panels you will find the condenser as shown below. If this is blocked with dust, clean it out. If after an hour or two your slushy is still not the correct consistancy, try adjusting the settings as shown below.

Making freeze adjustments to a slushy machine.
Slushy machines have adjustments to control the point at which the freeze function is switched on and off. The adjusters are usually manual, but can be electronic. For manual versions look for an adjuster at the back of the bowl and to the rear of the machine. For electronic ones use the touch pad to make the adjustments.

Getting the correct adjustment
Start the machine in position ‘1’ at the top of the slider scale. On this particular machine it is the adjustment is made with a flat screwdriver and the top red adjusting screw.
Leave at this setting for at least one hour to make your slushy. Your slushy should be mostly ice, but still slightly sloppy. If you need to make the slushy icier, use your screwdriver on the red pin on the top of your slush machine to turn the setting down half a notch towards the max setting and leave for another 30 minutes. If necessary, continue to adjust in the same way, half a notch at a time and leaving for 30 minutes each time until you reach the required slushy consistency. It is normal to require different settings on each tank and to have to adjust them occasionally up or down depending on conditions and recipes.
